Recently expanded by over 30,000 square feet,
the Irvin Deutscher Family YMCA, a branch of the Mt. Diablo
Region YMCA, made many innovative choices. The objective
was to provide a state of the art community facility, which
meets the growing demands of their 9,000 members.
A completely renovated fitness center features the new Paramount
Advanced Performance System circuit. "We chose the Advanced
Performance System because it's the best strength training
circuit on the market today and it's easy to use," reports
vice president of operations Julie Starkey.
"Our members love it. We're jammed with people every
day, so our equipment has to be durable and trouble free.
The Advanced Performance System is great. I use it myself."
In addition to the Paramount equipment, the fitness center
features the FitLinxx network, 30 pieces of cardio equipment
and provides fitness assessments and special senior programs
such as Project Recovery for stroke patients. Renovations
included an expanded lobby and courtyard, a skate park and
locker rooms. The pool, sauna and Jacuzzi have been an established
part of the facility since it opened in 1968. |
